Here we have the latest camera from GoPro. The GoPro 2 is the next level in HD video capture in a rugged form factor. Sporting the latest h.264 video processor from Ambarella using the new A5s chip the GoPro 2 camera has improved low light capability thanks to a new CMOS sensor. It has been fitted with a brand new glass lens that increases video quality by a factor of 2 when compared to the previous GoPro model.
The new chipset and sensor has the ability to take 11 megapixel stills photos. It can take up to 10 photos per second.
Another nice addition to the GoPro 2 camera is the revised LCD screen on the front of the camera making the menus much easier to navigate.
The GoPro 2 camera now has an audio input so you can connect a higher quality remote microphone. There is now a HDMI output and cables are supplied to connect the GoPro camera to any HDTV with a HDMI socket allowing playback of your video in full 1080p If you have ever seen this in another camera you will know the video quality is excellent with a direct digital connection.
GoPro announced a new bacpac coming soon which will give the new GoPro 2 camera WiFi capability. You will be able to wireless remotely control the camera using a GoPro remote or you will be able to use smart phone to play back your videos and photos.
This is the GoPro 2 Outdoor Edition. It replaces the previous GoPro camera known as the Helmet HERO.
It comes with all the essential helmet mounts in the box for you to get started straight away.
